Move the measuring instrument to the pipe wall B (no need to rotate the measuringinstrument), start the measuring instrument and make the instrument level.
Adjust the height of the measuring instrument (with the help of tripod, if necessary,use cushion block) so that the intersection of laser lines is accurately projected onpoint ll of wall B.
Rotate the measuring instrument 180 degrees, butdo not change the height of the measuring instrument, adjust the measuring instrument, let the laser line in the vertical direction pass through point 1 of wall , let the measuring instrument level, and make a markon the inter section point of the laserline of wall a (point lll).
The difference d between point 1 and pointll of wall a is the actual height deviation of themeasuring instrument.
Rotate the measuring instrument 180 degrees, but do not change the height of themeasuring instrument,adjust the measuring instrument,let the laser line in thevertical direction pass through point 1 of wall , let the measuring instrument level,and make a mark on the intersection point of the laser line of wall a(point lll).
The difference d between point 1 and point lll of wall a is the actual heightdeviation of the measuring instrument.
You can use the following formula to calculate the maximum allowable deviation, D-max/D-max = twice the wall spacing x0 2mm/m.
Example: if the distance between walls is 5m, the maximum allowable deviation D-max = 2x5m x 0.2mm/m = 2mm.So the distance between marks should not exceed2mm.
