What are the most prone to failures of high-voltage power cables? Everyone knows that the cable needs to pass the test when it is officially put into the market. But the functions of different cable tests are also different, and the methods are also different. The test method for high-voltage power cables is the flash test method. The flash test method includes flash and direct flash. The flash test method is also the most commonly used test method.

Due to the high precision of the flash test, its operation is simple, safe and reliable. The flash measurement equipment is composed of two parts. The high voltage generating equipment is used to generate DC high voltage or shock high voltage, which will be applied to the faulty high voltage power cable. The discharge of the faulty point will produce a reflected signal.

Its current pulse meter is used to pick up the fault interval of reflected signal measurement, and measure some faults such as open circuit, short circuit or low resistance. Faulty resistors are also the most prone to faults. A method of measurement based on this.

(1) When the resistance of the fault point is infinitely large, the short-circuit fault can be quickly found by measuring with the low-voltage pulse method. The simple open circuit fault is not often seen. The open circuit fault is a relative ground or interphase high resistance fault, and a relative ground or interphase low resistance fault exists together. (2) When the resistance of the defect point is greater than zero and less than 150 kΩ, the cause of the low resistance fault can be found at will by measuring the low voltage pulse method.

(3) When the resistance of the fault point is equal to zero, it is easy to find short-circuit faults by using the low-voltage pulse method, but this fault is rarely encountered. (4) Flashover defects can be measured by the direct flash method. This fault is usually There is a problem with the connector. When the resistance of the fault point is greater than 150 kΩ, the value changes greatly, and the measurement is very unstable. The measured distance is the distance from the fault point to the test end of the cable; otherwise, it is the distance from the fault point to the opposite end of the cable test.

(5) With the progress of high-voltage power cable fault testing technology, different methods should be used for different power cables. Also keep improving skills and equipment. This allows long-term safe use of high-voltage cable power.

Where are high-voltage power cables most prone to failure? High-voltage cable fault tester manufacturer Shenzhen Noyafa Electronic Technology Co., Ltd.
