How to judge high resistance and low resistance faults? When the insulation resistance of the fault point of the cable is less than or equal to the characteristic impedance of the cable, it is called a low-resistance fault, and vice versa, it is called a high-resistance fault (this definition is from the perspective of using the pulse reflection method, considering the difference in impedance, how to judge high-resistance for reflected pulses and low-resistance fault? When the insulation resistance of the fault point of the cable is less than or equal to the characteristic impedance of the cable, it is called a low-resistance fault, and vice versa, it is called a high-resistance fault (this definition is from the perspective of using the pulse reflection method, considering that the impedance is different to the reflection It depends on the influence of the polarity change of the pulse). When the low-voltage pulse method is used to test, the fault point has reflection (and the transmitted wave and the reflected wave are reversed). This fault is a low-resistance fault. On the contrary, it is a high-resistance fault.
