The cable identifier's signal generator is powered by an AC power source that adds fixed-period unipolar DC pulses to the out-of-power cable to be identified. The generator output wire is connected to the core wire of the cable and to a grounding point or grounding pin. The armor of the cable is disconnected from the ground. The signal generator of the cable identification instrument is powered by an AC power source that adds a fixed period of unipolar DC pulses to the power-off cable to be identified.
The generator output wire is connected to the core wire of the cable and to a grounding point or grounding pin. The armor of the cable is disconnected from ground, and the core wire is connected to a ground point or pin at the far end. The loop can conduct pulsed current, which can be read by the meter head on the identification instrument.
The current is determined by the loop resistance, which should be as small as possible. Instrument power supply The sensor is a current transformer, and the internal size of the jaw is 120mm. When current flows through the test cable, a voltage is induced in the sensor. The magnitude of the voltage is determined by the intensity of the current, and its polarity is determined by the direction of the current.
Safety Tests The following safety tests must be carried out to avoid casualties or damage to the cable identifier and other equipment. When using the cable identifier, carry out a live check on the cable under test and make sure that the cable is in a dead state. Protect these live parts with insulating materials.
Host preparation Connection: Before the test work, power off the cable under test, and its surrounding environment should be in a safe state. The generator is connected to the cable under test, and the red clip is connected to one core or several cores of the identified cable. Attach the black clip to the ground peg.
Connect the core wire at the far end of the cable to the ground pin. Disconnect the armor at both ends of the cable from the ground wire. Plug the power cord into a power outlet.
Power on: Turn on the power switch of the host to supply power to the host. The host starts to intermittently send a pulsating DC signal to the cable, and the output pulsating current signal is about 30A. When the receiver is ready, slowly adjust the sensitivity knob so that the meter begins to indicate.
Pay attention to the direction in which the sensor is inserted into the cable and the swing of the receiver meter. Test Set up the test loop, connect the red output jack to the core wire of the cable to be identified, connect the black output jack to the ground, and connect the cable core wire to the ground at the far end. The output current flows to the far end in the direction of the arrow in the cable, and returns to the generator through the ground to connect all the core wires of the identified cable together, and a clearer signal can be obtained.
When calibrating the instrument, when calibrating the receiver, use the sensor to clamp the cable at the beginning (close to the generator), the arrow points to the current direction, that is, to the far end of the cable. Each cable is stuck once, and the direction of the arrow points to the far end of the cable. When the cable that needs to be identified is stuck, the receiver meter will display a reading of 4-6 bars and swing to the right. The above editors share some relevant introductions of the cable identification instrument for you, hoping to be helpful to your friends.
