After the faulty line is out of service, the transmitter applies an ultra-low frequency high-voltage signal to the line to make the fault recur, and the sensor is hung on the line with an insulating rod along the line to detect the signal, and wirelessly transmits data to the receiver on the ground. The machine displays the measurement results. Before the fault point, the current persists, and after the fault point, the current disappears.

It can be roughly segmented first, and then pinpointed precisely, so that the fault location can be quickly determined. It is suitable for the distribution network of small current grounding system to detect various faults such as single-phase metallic grounding, arc grounding, and transition resistance grounding of overhead lines. Locating after the line is out of service, especially suitable for faulty lines with cable branches.

Applying a high voltage signal makes the fault recur, and the constant current signal is stable and easy to detect. The ultra-low frequency signal avoids the influence of system distributed capacitance and can locate high resistance faults. Transmitter safety features: high voltage start blocking function, output allows direct short circuit.

The sensor uses a high-sensitivity sensor, and the opening design does not need to be closed, which is convenient for hooking on the line. Sensor and receiver wireless communication transmission, safe and reliable. The transmitter can be powered by mains, generator or car inverter, and the sensor and receiver can be powered by dry batteries.

The transmitter is small in size and light in weight; the sensor is designed for the smallest volume and weight, which is convenient to be mounted along the line; the receiver is a hand-held design. The receiver adopts a large-screen liquid crystal display to display the sensor status, current waveform and current value.
